The calculator applications team finished in 1st place, qualifying for regionals. Senior Ashlee Foster earned 1st place; senior Jesus Coronado, 2nd; junior Reagan Smith, 5th; and soph. Aaron Nelson, 6th.
Soph. Casey Breece finished in 6th place in Current Issues. Other members of the team were seniors Drew Cunningham and Amaleigh Bailey and fresh. Eli Cunningham.
Soph. Josh Vetter finished in 5th place in Computer Science, and fresh. Nate Allen also competed in that event.
The journalism team earned 1st place as a team. Individually, senior Emilee Hall qualified for regionals in both News Writing (1st place) and Feature Writing (2nd place). Junior Katelynne Ottmo earned 2nd in News, 6th in Feature, 2nd in Editorial, and 1st in Headline Writing, qualifying for regionals in three of her events. Senior Ashlee Foster also received 4th place in Editorial Writing, and soph. Soleil Landreth, 6th place. Soleil also finished in 5th place in Headline Writing. Soph. Susana Krahn also competed in Headline Writing.
Senior Preston Clemons won 1st place in Informative Speaking.
In Literary Criticism, senior Rachel Yarbrough earned 6th place. Other team members were soph. Adeline Clemons and Laura Bell.
Senior Rylee Stoltenberg earned an individual 2nd place medal in Mathematics and the team also won 2nd place. Other team members were senior Rachel Yarbrough, junior Myles Knudsen, and fresh. Allie Morrison.
The Number Sense team won first place, qualifying for regionals. Senior Drew Cunningham led the way with a 1st place win. Senior Ethan Price placed 4th. Freshmen Nate Allen and Hayden Stroud completed the team.
In Persuasive Speaking, seniors Ashlee Foster and Jesus Coronado finished in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, both qualifying for regionals.
Senior Preston Clemons won another gold medal in Ready Writing while soph. Laura Bell finished in 5th place. Soph. Kelsee Frost also competed in Ready Writing.
Science team members were seniors Drew Cunningham and Amaleigh Bailey and juniors Ariah Ashmore and Miguel Coronado.
Soph. Soleil Landreth earned 3rd place in Spelling and Vocabulary, qualifying for regionals, and soph. Susana Krahn finished right behind her in 4th place. The team won 2nd place; the other team members were senior Walter Skidmore and fresh. Cevan Hutchins.
In February, the Cross Examination Debate team of sophomores Adeline Clemons and David Gamez finished in 3rd place, and seniors Ashlee Foster and Jesus Coronado earned 6th place.
