Below is a newscast project created by the Audio Video Production class. It was filmed with a high definition camera, mainly in front of a green screen. The video was edited with Adobe Premiere Pro.
The academic UIL team traveled to Blue Ridge on the Monday after Spring Break, March 23, for the district 13AA meet. They finished in second place overall with a total of 312 points.
Thirteen individuals qualified for regional competition, which will take place at Grayson County College, on Sat., April 25: seniors Natalie Ferguson, 1st - Informative Speaking; and Katie Staes, 1st - Literary Criticism; juniors Kailee Frost, 1st - Poetry; Kayce Owen, 2nd - Ready Writing; Alec Dickinson, 2nd - Social Studies; Jayden Galloway, 3rd - Poetry and 3rd - Spelling; and Caitlin Warren, 3rd - Headline Writing; sophomores Ashlee Foster, 3rd - Calculator Applications and 1st - Persuasive Speaking; Emilee Hall, 1st - News Writing and 3rd - Feature Writing; Walter Skidmore, 1st - Computer Science; Jesus Coronado, 2nd - Persuasive Speaking; and Preston Clemons, 3rd - Ready Writing; and freshman Katelynne Ottmo, 2nd - News Writing.
The Literary Criticism team placed first overall, qualifying all four members for regional. They are seniors Katie Staes (1st) and Tommy Cunningham (6th), and juniors Kailee Frost and Page Patrick.
The Journalism and Speech teams both finished in second place.
Other team members that placed at district were juniors Margarita Coronado, 5th - Calculator Applications; and Kayce Owen, 5th - Feature Writing; soph. Cody Whitener and Preston Clemons, 5th (tie) - Computer Science; soph. Drew Cunningham, 6th - Number Sense; and freshman Katelynne Ottmo, 4th - Feature Writing and 5th - Headline Writing.
The One Act Play competed at district competition on March 26th at Grayson County College. Unfortunately, the play did not advance on to area, but the following cast and crew members received recognition: Junior Kayce Owen and soph. Ashlee Foster - All Star Cast; senior Natalie Ferguson - Honorable Mention All Star Cast; junior Jayden Galloway - Tech. and Stage Manager Award.
Soph. Jada Redd competed in the Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association's (THSWPA) state meet in Corpus Christi Sat., March 21, 2015, for the second year in a row, and placed fifth in her weight class. Jada lifted a total of 800 pounds.

Jada along with junior Alexis Wilkison and sophomore Amaleigh Bailey all competed in the regional meet on Sat., March 7, at Whitesboro. Jada finished in second place, qualifying her for state.

Two boys qualified for regionals in powerlifting this year: junior Hoss McElroy and freshman Dylan McElroy. They competed on Sat., March 7, at Chico. Hoss finished third, making him alternate to state.
