On Friday, senior Jada Redd qualified for a return trip to the state meet by placing second in the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 3 inches.
In other field events on Friday, soph. Aaron Nelson finished in sixth place in long jump. Junior Shemiyah Finney tied for sixth place, as well, in the high jump.
In Friday's running prelims, the girls' 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relays qualified for finals on Saturday, sitting in fourth place in both. Junior Rozshanae Williams qualified in the 100m dash, soph. Amelia Butler qualified in the 400m run, and fresh. Tionna Cooper qualified in the 200m run. Senior Josue Rodriguez also qualified for finals in the 100m dash.
During Saturday's events, soph. Amelia Butler finished in second place in the 800m run with a time of 2:26 min., qualifying her for state, as well. The girls' 4 x 100m relay finished in fourth place overall. Junior Rozshanae Williams also qualified for state with second place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.88 seconds. The girls' 4 x 200m relay also finished in fourth place overall, and freshman Tionna Cooper finished in sixth place. Several other Warriors and Lady Warriors placed in the top 10, as well.
