Bree Cason, Kelsee Frost, and Zakia Smith, seniors at Honey Grove High School, have recently been nominated by the student body as the 2018 Homecoming Court.  On Friday, September 21, the Warrior battle with the Maud Cardinals will commence, and during half-time festivities, one of these three young ladies will be crowned the 2018 Homecoming Queen.

                The first nominee, Bree Cason, is the daughter of Kim and Brent Cason of Monkstown.  She is very active in extracurricular activities, including FFA (4 years), Beta Club (4 years), and FCA (2 years).  She has also served as an FFA chapter officer all four years and has shown livestock at numerous events with award-winning success.  A strong competitor, Bree has shown her Warrior spirit fully in the athletic realm, participating in basketball and softball for four years.  Through these sports, she has received numerous awards in softball, including Newcomer of the Year (2016), District Most Valuable Player as a sophomore and junior, Academic All District the past three years, Red River Valley Athlete of the week two years, and All Texomaland athlete in 2017.   A talented musician, Bree participated in the Warrior band for three years.   Her future plans include attending college and living  “a happy life with a bunch of cows!  She will be escorted at the pep rally by senior football player Aaron Nelson and in the Homecoming coronation by her grandfather Ronnie Foster.

                Nominee Kelsee Frost is the daughter of Lee and Kristi Frost of Honey Grove.  Kelsee has participated in Beta Club (4 years), FFA (4 years), SADD (4 years), and FCA (4 years).  Displaying her leadership skills, Kelsee has been class secretary as a freshman and activity coordinator as a junior.   A very athletic young lady, Kelsee has participated in softball (4 years), tennis (3 years), cheerleading (4 years), and basketball (1 year).   Excelling in softball, she has received several awards:  1st Team Outfield her freshman year, 1st Team Infield her sophomore year, Utility Player of the Year as a junior, and Academic All-District the past three years.  Her other extracurricular activities include three years in the Warrior band, and one year in Academic UIL.   Upon graduation, Kelsee plans to attend Oklahoma State University, “travel to cool places, and live a happy life surrounded by family, dogs, and Jesus.”  She will be escorted by senior football player Adam Aldridge at the pep rally and by her father Less Frost during the coronation ceremony.

                The third nominee is Zakia Smith, daughter of Steven and Deveda Smith of Honey Grove.     A very athletic young lady, Kia has participated in basketball and track for three years and softball for two years.   In basketball she has garnered several awards for her contributions, including Academic All-District as a sophomore and junior and District Honorable Mention as a junior.   Other extracurricular activities she enjoys are SADD (4 years), Beta Club (2 years) and FFA (4 years).  A leader in her class, she is serving as vice-president her senior year.  Zakia plans to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University next fall and major in anesthesiology.  Escorting her at the pep rally on Friday will be senior football player Zeke Woods and at the halftime coronation, her father Steven Smith.

The Homecoming Court will first be presented Friday afternoon, September 21, during the downtown parade beginning at 1:15 P.M. and subsequently at the community pep rally immediately following the parade at approximately 2 P.M. in the high school gymnasium.  Congratulations to each of these young ladies.

Come celebrate our 2018 Homecoming Warriors Around the World.  Results of all the student body activities for the week—dress up competition, Warrior games, and the float participation—will be announced at the halftime festivities at the game; the alumni class of 2008 will also be recognized.
